Curtis Campbell Menard died in a plane crash here in Alaska on August 9, 2001. After marrying Dr. Carole Brodeur in May of 1992, the couple moved to Alaska where they had been raising their four children, Gabrielle, Tanner, Harrison and Sullivan.

Curtis was well known in the Mat-Su community and Alaska as a dedicated husband and father who enjoyed flying, hunting, fishing, running and cross country skiing. He was involved with the Rotary Club of Wasilla for many years, and was currently serving as president of the club. He also served as a member on the Valley Crisis Pregnancy Center. Committed to his family, he found time to coach his daughter's soccer team.

Dr. Menard was a young man who had a very strong faith that he demonstrated daily through his work, involvement in and caring for his community, and with this family. To this end he inspired many others to be the best that they could be in life.

Curtis C. Menard II's legacy to his family, friends and community is to embrace life, serve your community and practice your faith enthusiastically.
